My work looks at the spaces "in-between."
Because I come from a divided country, I have always been aware of the lines that separate us. In Berlin, I recognized a different kind of boundary: the way institutional power uses a "white noise" of rules and expectations to wash out the individual. For someone with my background, the "glare" of society isn't meant to help you see—it’s meant to make you disappear.
I use my camera to record the friction of staying whole in a world that tries to pull you apart. I’m not interested in a perfect, still photo. I’m looking for the vibration—the proof that a person is still there even when the system tries to freeze them. Whether I am building "Monoliths" of light for protection or tracing the frantic heartbeat of a portrait, my work is a refusal to be silenced.

musta·kema·kima (b. Cyprus, 1990)
Visual artist and researcher whose practice interrogates the friction between human sovereignty and institutional structures. Operating at the intersection of photography and philosophy, they utilize Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) and long-exposure light extraction to map the "vibrational materiality" of the subject. Their work functions as a seismographic record of existence within states of social and structural erasure.

a Berlin-based visual artist whose practice constructs monumental barriers of light to navigate environments of geopolitical and somatic fracture. Utilizing lens-based media as a tool for "Kinetic Grounding," musta kema kima transmutates the vulnerabilities of the queer body and the debris of divided landscapes into "Monoliths" - load-bearing structures that refuse to be captured or frozen. This work performs a clinical autopsy on the image to provide the viewer with a secondary, skeletal map - a "Ghost" frequency that asserts structural integrity while deliberately withholding the real core from the external gaze. The resulting abstractions serve as a tactical redirection, erecting a resilient architecture where identity has been systemically compromised.
